My Little Dark Age
Acrylic on canvas, 24 x 24 x 1.5 inches
This entire collection is dedicated to my grandfather, Lawrence Irving Kruger. Since his passing, I’ve been exploring the relationship between negative space and linework and the childlike wonder it brings. Neutral colors are comforting me in this time, so I continue to work with them.
My Little Dark Age is a reference to the depression I’ve been experienced since the loss of my grandpa, but painting is definitely light in my Dark Age, so it’s a positive thing. This painting is proof that light comes from dark.
