Inspiration:
While I was home visiting family, my 5-year-old niece kept requesting Billie Eilish. On the way home from school, to dance to, you name it. I would roll my eyes every time and say “fine” because I’m a little stubborn about trying out new music. Then I got home from my trip and was like… wait a minute, the music was pretty good! I should check out her new album.
This painting is the result of my 5 year old niece getting me into Billie Eilish, and then me realizing that her new album was so good it allowed me to melt into my work like nothing else in the world mattered.
The album has been on repeat in my studio since its release, and it allows me to step into Synthesia with sound while painting. I can see colors in my head while listening.
I also associate certain colors with numbers and didn’t realize this isn’t something everyone experiences. Not all music allows me to melt into the canvas like this, so this album is special to me. This painting is a masterpiece inspired by my love for music and of course, Isabel my niece.
