“The Limelight” explores two meanings. First off, the disco club in NYC in the 80s, which represents my love for music. Without music I would not be able to make the art that I do. I have named several works of art after old disco clubs that have been influential to pop culture, because pop culture also inspires me.
Secondly, the other meaning behind this work is the catch-22 that is being a “public figure” on the internet and how difficult it can be for my mental health. Being the focus of attention is a blessing and a curse, but I wouldn’t have been able to achieve success without my internet presence.
