Details: 10 x 8 x .75 inches; acrylic and oil pastel on canvas, sides painted turquoise, wired and ready to hang. Framed it measures 9 x 11 inches.

Inspiration: In real life, if flowers were in space, they'd be so cold that they'd shrivel up and die. But in my reality, they'd be colorful and twinkle along with the stars. They'd look like wild floating gardens that would look like fireworks displays when we looked up to the stars. In the Leah Nadeau universe, this is my interpretation of florals in space, a colorful existence among constellations, planets, shooting stars, and galaxies.

About The Artist

I’m Leah Nadeau, and I create original abstract paintings for people who want their homes to feel unmistakably like their own.

My work is shaped by architecture, midcentury modern design, my film school background, and synesthesia, which means I experience music as color. Every painting is made slowly, by hand, and one at a time.

Filled with color, joy, resilience, and a little weirdness, these paintings aren’t meant to disappear into the background. They become the piece you build the entire room around.

My work has been featured in Atomic Ranch Magazine, exhibited at Modernism Week in Palm Springs, and permanently installed at the Henry Ford Health Cancer Institute in Detroit.
