Inspiration:
As you may know, I’m highly inspired by architecture, and this painting is no exception. “Clerestory” is a type of window first popularized in churches and cathedrals, and then modernized by Frank Lloyd Wright in later years. Another artist friend saw my finished painting and told me how similar the painting looks to these windows, and I agree!
I chose the name “Sunset Through the Clerestory,” because I feel like there’s sunlight beaming through windows, and the sunlight signifies positivity coming through despite hardship. At the end of the day, even the toughest days, we still get a beautiful sunset to look at. The title really resonates with me- there’s always another day to look forward to.
