Selected Commissions: Paintings Created in Collaboration with Collectors

One of my favorite parts of being an artist is collaborating directly with collectors.
A commissioned painting isn’t just something you buy and hang on a wall. It’s something we create together. It reflects your home, your taste, and the feeling you want a space to hold.
Over the years, I’ve created commissioned works for homes across the country. Some are bold architectural mosaics. Others are calm compositions inspired by landscape and movement.
What they all share is this: they begin with a conversation.

The Commission Process
Commissioning artwork may sound complicated, but the process is actually very collaborative and straightforward.
Measurements and Placement
The first step is understanding the space where the painting will live.
You’ll share the wall's measurements and a photo of the room. This helps me determine the size that will feel the most balanced and impactful in your home.
A painting should feel as if it belongs to the architecture of the space.
Choosing a Color Palette
Next, we talk about color.
You can send reference photos, room swatches, furniture colors, or anything else that reflects the mood of your space. I then create palette ideas inspired by those references, and we refine them together.
This ensures the final piece feels completely integrated into your home.
Selecting the Style
You’ll also look through past works and identify pieces that resonate with you.
Some collectors gravitate toward architectural compositions with strong lines and structure. Others prefer mosaic-like works that feel energetic and full of movement.
Together, we decide on the direction that best fits your space.
Reserving Your Commission
A 15% deposit reserves your place on my commission calendar and allows me to begin work.
The remaining balance is due once the painting is completed and approved before shipping.
Process Check-Ins
Throughout the process, I share progress photos so you can see the painting evolve.
You’ll be part of the journey from start to finish and can give feedback along the way. This ensures the work continues to move in a direction that feels right for you.
Final Approval
When the painting is complete, you’ll have the opportunity to review the finished piece.
If you love it, we finalize the process and prepare the work for shipping. If you’d like adjustments, I'll refine until you are happy with the result.
Only when we both agree that the painting is finished does it leave the studio.

What Collectors Say
Amanda M.
“We commissioned a painting for our living room in Florida. We couldn’t be more thrilled with the results. Leah worked with me on color and feel and delivered the most beautiful result. It is literally the focal point of our home, and it’s perfect.”
Gail C.
“The process of commissioning a piece of art measuring 60 x 40 seemed complicated until Leah, my husband and I met by Zoom. Leah asked thoughtful questions about colors we gravitated toward, shapes we liked, our lifestyle and experiences. She checked in with us as she made progress and was completely open to adjustments.”
Jill S.
“Leah painted the most extraordinary piece for me. I can’t say enough wonderful things about the process. I was able to express what I wanted and she delivered exactly what I was looking for.”
