Meet Artist Leah Nadeau

I'm Leah Nadeau, and I make abstract acrylic paintings shaped by three things I can't separate from how I see: a deep love of architecture, a film school education that taught me to see the world differently, and synesthesia, which means color has always sounded like something to me. Each piece is an original, made slowly and one at a time, built to anchor a room and quietly change the way it feels to be in it.

Rooted in Mid Century Modern Design and themes of resilience and joy, my work becomes the focal point that collectors build entire spaces around.

I currently live in Portland, Oregon, with my velcro dog, Gus, whom I take on adventures with me everywhere I go. He even goes with me on airplanes when I travel; we are inseparable.

When I'm not painting or walking my dog, I love to spend time with my friends who are also artists. We are all small business owners here in the Portland area. I also have a love of film and went to film school, so I love seeing movies in theatres and then analyzing every scene afterward.

My favorite dessert is tiramisu, my favorite drink is a Shirley Temple, and my sauce of choice is honey mustard.

I've been featured in Atomic Ranch Magazine, exhibited at Modernism Week, and permanently installed at the Henry Ford Health Cancer Institute in Detroit, Michigan.
