Inspiration:

In my school days, the subject of World War II captivated me. Not only was I personally connected through my grandfather's service, but the devastating impact of the Holocaust took the lives of over 100 of my family members.

This painting delves into the profound journey of a soldier, exploring not only their experiences on the battlefield but also the challenges they face upon returning home and reintegrating into society.

During that era, our understanding of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) was limited, and only now are we truly comprehending the profound impact it has on an individual's psyche.

The effects of war transform those who serve, both in the past and present, and the trauma endured resonates across generations.

This painting serves as a reminder that we can never fully grasp the depth of someone's experiences by merely looking at them. It emphasizes the utmost importance of kindness, compassion, and understanding in our interactions. Every individual deserves love and respect, and it is through treating others as we wish to be treated that we can foster a more empathetic world.
