Inspiration:

Mackinac Island holds a special place in my heart as a native Michigander. A remote, nostalgic gem, it feels like stepping into another time—no cars, just the steady rhythm of bikes, horses, and waves against the shore. Every year, my dad sails there for the Mackinac Race, the biggest sailboat race of the year. It draws sailors from across the country and even Canada, all navigating the same waters that have connected the Great Lakes for centuries.

This painting carries that nostalgia for me. It’s part of my Infrastructure Series, capturing the bridges—both literal and emotional—that tie places, memories, and people together.
