Inspiration:  

The lights on the Willamette river are a wonderful scene at night.

Every time I see them, I think about the harbor back home in Michigan. My dad and I used to go there every weekend. He would be doing his projects on the boat, and I would be set up with the portlable 11 in TV/VHS player below deck.

Now, when I paint the glow of bridges and reflections, I’m painting that feeling. The nostaglia of those nights.

It’s wild how one river can remind you of another body of water, even 25 years later, thousands of miles away. I miss nights with my dad.
