Inspiration: This painting was inspired by the love of color and the joy it brings us when it’s in our everyday lives. I used to decorate my house entirely in neutral tones until I realized it didn’t make me happy. I started slowly but surely replacing my all grey home and I realized how much it boosted my mood day to day. Sometimes all you need is color in your life to make you feel alive.

About The Artist

I’m Leah Nadeau, and I create original abstract paintings for people who want their homes to feel unmistakably like their own.

My work is shaped by architecture, midcentury modern design, my film school background, and synesthesia, which means I experience music as color. Every painting is made slowly, by hand, and one at a time.

Filled with color, joy, resilience, and a little weirdness, these paintings aren’t meant to disappear into the background. They become the piece you build the entire room around.

My work has been featured in Atomic Ranch Magazine, exhibited at Modernism Week in Palm Springs, and permanently installed at the Henry Ford Health Cancer Institute in Detroit.
