12 x 12 inches, acrylic and oil paint on paper. This painting can be framed, and the size framed is 16 x 16 with a white mat that emphasizes the painting. If you have a different color in mind, please contact me after you check out.

Inspiration:

This painting is inspired by the magic of Wicked. I saw the movie, felt its energy, and couldn’t wait to get home and start painting.

One of my favorite things about film is soaking in the imagery of the costumes and sets. The vibrant colors of the costumes, the textures of the dorm walls, and the intricate details of the fictional buildings in Wicked inspired me so much. This painting captures the heart and soul of the movie, and my hope is that viewing this painting takes you to the movie in your memory. Did you notice my ode to the Yellow Brick Road?

About The Artist

I’m Leah Nadeau, and I create original abstract paintings for people who want their homes to feel unmistakably like their own.

My work is shaped by architecture, midcentury modern design, my film school background, and synesthesia, which means I experience music as color. Every painting is made slowly, by hand, and one at a time.

Filled with color, joy, resilience, and a little weirdness, these paintings aren’t meant to disappear into the background. They become the piece you build the entire room around.

My work has been featured in Atomic Ranch Magazine, exhibited at Modernism Week in Palm Springs, and permanently installed at the Henry Ford Health Cancer Institute in Detroit.
