INSPIRATION:
When I was preparing to move to the Portland, Oregon area, there was a great debate whether I'd be living on the left or the right side of the river, or even in Oregon at all. I also looked at some places in Vancouver, which is across the river to the North. At first, I had my eye on Tualatin, then Tigard. I visited Beaverton, Milwaukie, and several neighborhoods in Portland proper; you name it. I ended up renting a house on the right side of the river in Clackamas County. I really like it here! The next step is to buy a house, but that is an entirely different process.
